Impulse buy - Low grade & relatively low cost, but cool!

I just thought it was neat. It's completely out of character for me just to buy something random, but... I guess I can call it another "accent piece". I do not have it in hand yet, but will tomorrow. Thoughts?

Overgraded, that's a VF25 at max.
(Pretty neat and works well with your collection.)
How could they tell?
Cool addition to a random box of 20.

👍👍. Looks like they were using the slab as a pocket piece too

Why a VF30? Why not VF25 or VF35 lol?
Well, if you like it.......

Could go red brown on the resubmission
35+RBCAC . It will stay where it is, and I will be excited to get it. Thanks for it,

Exactly my thoughts here. Anywhere from F12 to EF40 could fit this disk. I like it. @NeophyteNumismatist , would you mind sharing what you bought it for?

It was on sale on eBay for $189.95. I was able to negotiate a direct deal, which I appreciate.

Love that stuff. I have a Pittman Canadian Dime blank somewhere...
Just picked it up, and the slab looks much better in hand. Not a "pocket piece" as it's looking in the pictures. I am very happy with it. Thanks again to @mcarney1173 for the assist.

Very cool! Always enjoyed these affordable types. The grade is pretty funny since there is no reference in which to develop an opinion on grade! Good find.

I like it and would think it to be cool to accompany your collections.

Looks like you made a cool score at a good price!
I wonder if any of these exist with a lettered edge or vine&bars edge? Although the mint was always low on copper planchets early on, so probably unlikely.
I do like the coin, and although a numerical grade seems like a wild guess, it does appear to be circulated and also not messed with which is a good thing.
No, it’s a C.
I am going to WAG and say that is probably an earlier one, from the mid 1820s to the early 1840s, based on the proto-rim. Planchets from 1844 and later tent to have a thicker rim than that.

Not a clue on the grade but I know I like it. Nice pickup.
Nice pickup. Judging from the front of that slab, I think they got the planchet backwards, that looks like the reverse. And it looks upside-down, too.
Historic planchet, can be put next to a nice large cent collection, pretty cool.
A grading set of these would make for a wonderful display.
