    My old man had been panning for gold for years and finally found a small gold nugget.

    My Dad was cleaning out my Grandfather's attic after the old guy died. Found his WWII Army uniform and in the pocket was a ticket for Silver's shoe repair in Brooklyn. As luck would have it, he was going to be in New York in a few weeks for a Bar Mitzvah and figured he would stop by to see if the shop was still there.

    Indeed it was.

    He walks into the place and an old fellow that had to be 100 years old was seated behind the counter. I am Louie Silver, said the elderly gentleman. Astounded, Dad showed the claim ticket for the shoe repair from nearly 80 years earlier.

    Old man looks at it for a few seconds...shuffles off to the back and returns a minute or two later. Looks at my Dad and says..."They will be ready Tuesday.
