Red Sox catcher makes MLB history tomorrow.

The Red Sox will play a doubleheader tomorrow, one game is a make up from a previously called game with Toronto. As it happens, Danny Jansen was the Toronto catcher when the previous game began, he will also be the catcher tomorrow, but now with the Red Sox as the face 5 games with Toronto.

He is the only MLB player to have caught for both teams in one game.

Will be a great trivia question 50 years from now.

He even played both positions at the plate in a single at-bat. In the original game, Jansen was at bat for Toronto when the game was suspended. When the game resumed, Jansen was behind the plate as the Boston catcher, and Varsho pinch hit for the remainder of Jansen's Toronto at-bat.

Would have been cool if he tagged himself out at the plate.

That kind of history we did not need. It was a worthless trade as we didn't need a catcher to begin with. We have some good ones coming up the line. These are the kind of moves that the Sox management make that I dont like ! Giving up 3 prospects for him at trade deadline was dumb from the get go just to make a trade to show they were trying!
