@PeakRarities, honestly in hand the coin is technically a 63. And we’ve all seen higher graded coins that were far uglier. I don’t think he likes the coin, but don’t make me look the fool for purchasing it and then post snide remarks at my expense. At $2550 it was a solid buy.

In no way was I being snide, that’s not how I roll. The price you paid is great, and I’d take 10 of them at that price. In my opinion, it’s very weak as a 63 and I was just pointing out how ironic it was for cougar to leave his first positive comment in history, when he’s the one typically making someone else out to be the fool when they buy an original, correctly graded coin.

You made a great purchase, like I said I hope you don’t take it personally but objectively I would never grade that coin 63+. If you check out my recent post on the BST, I basically wrote an about how the most important factor to consider is value. I encourage people to buy coins that aren’t “pq”, or very strong for the grade, as long as the price is right and they like the eye appeal.

First post from @Cougar78 in this thread:
“MS 61, possibly MS60. Face really horrible - so many marks. I recommend MS69 / 70 AGE, AGB vs this coin.”

His second post - yes, about the same coin in the same thread :
“Really nice MS63+ DE. MV $3350 per Coin Facts. Nice luster and color. Congrats on nice pickup, super investment buy. Now may be a good time stack a few.”

I wonder whether he has dissociative personality disorder? If he does, I wouldn't want to deliver any more barbs his way.
If he doesn’t, based on his willingness to change his position so drastically, he might be the most flexible, open-minded person on the planet.😉

Oh dear, didn’t even notice that before 🤪. Now I’m confused on whether not @jfriedm56 thiugh I was being snide, or cougar was being snide. Either way, I can assure him that I was not.

@PeakRarities, no, no, no. I was not implying that about you. I was pointing out what that old cougar was saying not you. I was referring to his snide remarks on a simple GTG. Nothing more. I appreciated your comments. Thank you. This whole thing has gotten way out of hand.

We all have to roll with the punches in this business and try to have a sense of humor. Maybe the op could post some pictures of the coin showing the luster.

So to be fair to me, and not to criticize any of you who responded I would like to show you what some television coin shows are selling as PCGS graded MS 64 Coronet $20. Libs. If this is a 64, mine falls in line with the new definition of a 63+. Just saying. Here’s their 64:

That one looks like a 63 to me, but we have to remember that when they grade common libs in choice unc, they’re not spending much time on the coins and they don’t really care if they over grade them a bit as the value is virtually the same.

Here’s two 64 libs I have in my gold stack, one is technically much cleaner than the other, if you ignore the putty on the 1903. The 1900 is similar to the TV coin, and would look more appropriate in a 63 holder imo.

@PeakRarities, thank you for your response. You know I think it all comes down to, do I like the coin I’m considering purchasing, and what am I willing to pay for it.
