How to get ahold of someone important at PSA regarding severe card damage

Holy cow. I've had a card damaged in the past, but this is just unbelievable.

Just got the email saying my submission was complete. Went to look at pictures and two cards are severely damaged. I absolutely did not submit them in that condition. It's so bad. It's like they were dragged across the ground. Why would I do that? They're not even pricey cards.

The other four cards in this submission were supposed to be auto grades only, and they graded the cards with no auto grade. I'm trying to get this addressed before they ship the cards back to me and make this an even bigger mess.

Slow your roll... That's just the scratches on the scanner glass and your card savers... And those are pictures of the cards from BEFORE grading...... :s

As for the auto grade/no auto grade thing, is there a picture of the actual slab? What shows when you bring up the cert# in verification?

  • The card savers were brand new, and everything was super clean when it went into the box. My other scans have never shown these scratches before.

None of the cards come up when I put the certs in the verification search. But, I can go into my order, click on the order number and see pictures of the cards in the slab.

    Here's one.

Don’t sweat the scans. Submit enough and you’ll have one like my recent sub of an 84 Donruss Mattingly. It left my house pristine and came back with a huge crease at one corner and a 4 grade. Total wrecking.

You also won’t get your card saver back. It’s said the grader consumes it.

Appreciate the reassurance. I had one card receiver corner damage several years ago during encapsulation. PSA made it right, but really had to stay on top of them. I've submitted roughly a thousand cards and never seen my scans look like that before.

I know I won't get the card saver back. Those guys have to eat something.

So you scan the cards before you sent them, and that shows scratches on the top loader then you blame PSA? Their scans have a dark background like the Namath you posted, whereas the raw cards have a green background.

Those are not my scans. Those are the scans provided by PSA.

These are the only pictures I have before I submitted them. The blue ink on that one card is the toploader.

It’s not uncommon for the first look scans to appear scuffed for the reasons RK mentioned. Wait until it’s complete and the secure scans are available.

  • I wonder if the unimportant people at PSA are scratching their heads and thinking "Why not us?"

    Gobble.
