British Gold NEWP with a Question…

I have always loved this design, in my opinion it is one of the very best designs ever if not the very best!

However in my collecting, I like there to be a little bit more to it than just strictly bullion so finding this particular pedigree, gave it just enough coolness to deserve a spot in my collection, but, does anybody know the story on this?

I am assuming that the Royal Mint made these coins and then sent them to NGC themselves, and then got them back to sell them on their website? Does anybody know the story on these?

Good question. I’ve never heard of a national mint submitting their product to a TPG themselves, though I suppose it’s possible.

    🤷‍♂️

Aha! Thanks for clearing that up.

Indeed! That’s what I initially was guessing… Thank you for posting that!

To me, this is very cool, I now have the matching 1/10 coming in the mail soon.

I quite like Britannia. Note the parrot on Charles’ ear.

I found out recently. That is indeed the story… All of them went through an auction last August.

I’ve now gotten all four sizes in 70.
I’ve also gotten the sovereign, just need the Silver Britannia in 70 and I’ll have completed the set (Charles only)
