Hi everyone? I found doubling on my 1955 penny in the wheat stocks but can not confirm whether this is an known error. I can see that there are many varieties on Wexlers DD Varieties...but some are proof coins so which one I have would help me. Any assistance would be appreciated 😁

I don't see any doubling, and for the record it's wheat stalk, not wheat "stock".

I don't know for sure but this may be the same ash that showed up on the NGC forum last week and has been spamming that forum with pocket change that she thinks are rare errors and double die coins. Same nasty I know it all attitude, but it could just be a coincidence.

Sorry, but the error you have is in thinking you have an error coin.

I'm seeing minor doubling on the top of one of the wheat stalks and on the left side of the uprights of the "E" and "T" in "ONE CENT". However, I have no reason to think that it's not machine doubling unless I were to look it up and I'm not willing to invest the time.
Does your coin match any description or pictures in Wexler's book? If yes, then you have identified it. If no, you probably have machine (mechanical) doubling and this is not an error.
