So are people still complaining about the walks that Juan Soto has taken like they used to??
Now that he has walked a league leading 102 times batting in front of Judge?
Kind of like Joe Morgan when people complained his walks didn't mean as much as OPS says they do, like they did with Joey Votto too because they said Votto walked too much and the hitters behind him were not that good, so his walks didn't have the value his OPS said they did.
So if Votto's walks weren't of value due to that, then Morgan's, Soto's, and Mantle's were of EXTRA more value than their OPS says because they had elite hitters behind them.
Remember, a PSA, walks overall are 2/3 the value of a single, with varying values based on baserunners and outs. It isn't a debate. It isn't an opinion. They just are....and they are already accounted for in the good measurements.

Votto isnt really a good comparison. Aside from the fact that hes slow (I know Soto is too) theres a big difference between walking in front of Judge, Othani, and guys like that than walking in front of a Jay Bruce or Suarez. Votto was supposed to be the guy driving everyone in.
I very much dislike Soto for what SD gave up for him in that absolutely absurd rip off of a trade, but he still produces in a hitter friendly park now. Votto didnt really when he decided to be the slap hitting walk man
