2000 Lincoln date error?

It seems there is something printed under the date 2000, mostly noticeable on the last zero. I could not find anything online so I came here.

    Welcome to the forum! :)

It appears to be a die chip or die crack.

  • Thank you, and thanks for the info.

Welcome to the forum, as mentioned it could be a die crack or chip, the other very likely possibility is a plating blister. Cents minted since 1982 are made with a solid zinc core with a thin copper plating on the outside. The mint has had issues with plating blisters on the copper plating since they went to this configuration.

Die cracks and chips are minor errors but are so common that they are not considered to add value unless very extreme, which yours is not. Blisters are not an error but just quality control problems that the mint may never solve.
