Can anything be done to help this token?

While this is not a particularly valuable token, the corrosion is very distracting. Is there anything I can do to remove it without damaging the token?

An acetone (high grade) bath, perhaps.

It may not be corrosion. It could have resulted from long storage in something made of leather.

@Rob85635 After a long acetone soak (24 hrs), I suggest the use of Verdi Care/Chem, patting it on with a Qtip and then pat off the excess. I have had good results lifting similar green goop off bronze pieces. Good luck. Peace Roy
