**Edited to add

On a whim I sent in 30 coins to ANACS after stopping by a coin show last month because of a special extended to me by an old friend - $13 per coin plus S&H. Turn around time was exactly a month and was glad the grades ranged from AU through MS 63.
New pics added of the two VAM varieties.

Hi all
Have been contemplating dusting out my old albums and sending in the raw Morgans from my danscos for grading - to either our hosts or ANACS depending on the condition and rarity etc. and really appreciate all inputs including if worthwhile or not.
Thank you in advance and sincere apologies for the terrible pictures from the archives.
Kindly ignore the "1893-S" along with "1895" since they both are knockoffs from China used as hole fillers.
Cheers.

A sample of the 1879 S and 1879 O

Personally, I'd leave them just as is.
    Many are cleaned.
Your presentation is well received in a Dansco album.
The money you spend on grading will only lead to disappointment and could be used to add more coins or for upgrades.

Yes, you are very correct about most common dates definitely not worth the slabbing since many may be cleaned or dipped but I believe atleast 24 of them have cartwheels with my sub-par pictures not doing justice to them.
I have the full set slabbed and upgrades seem to be a real uphill task going forward. Just wanted to ensure that the raw ones get a bit of TLC before disposing them off eventually. o:)
    Cheers.

Even having "cartwheels" does not mean there is a business case for slabbing. Generic AU/unc coins raw will get $30 plus. Will the slab make them worth $70? Only if you get a 63 or 64.

For the 1879-S shown, that coin is a 63 max, probably a 62. A raw UNC will sell for $50 or $60. If you squeeze it into a 63, you might get $100. But PCGS pockets the entire difference in price.

Personally, I would not send any of the coins in for certification. IMO the only 2 that are nice are the 81 S and the 02 O, but won't grade high enough to justify the fees.
