Grandson of a golfing buddy, 11 years old, lives out of state. He's a voracious reader and loves numismatics. Had a chance to talk about:
PCGS Grading Set Coins
PCGS Generations
Compugrade and computer/AI grading
Pioneer gold
Silver ingots from NV and ID
1907 Wore Edge $10's
Gave him some samples and a green PCGS box. Also, the PCGS SAMPLE folder from the 2016 PCGS SAMPLE display.
Finally, introduced him to the NN Portal - should get MANY hours of reading from that alone!
Had a great time - very nice kid - wish he lived closer!
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose.

A nice start. Only can hope the interest is maintained.
Sounds like me back when I was 11! Hopefully he sticks with it!

Spending time with and educating a YN is always a noble gesture. Contrary to popular belief, there are still a lot of them out there who need mentors. Hopefully, you lit a fire within him and he will continue to pursue this wonderful hobby!
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍
