My short report, well kinda, from the ANA.
Hi guys,
Yes, What a great debut trip to the Chicago ANA Show on Thursday!
Met a few friends, including dealer buddies, along with some interesting coin collectors.
My quest to do what I planned were spot on!
First my submission, 1938D NGC MS 67 Buffalo, Reholdered to my cherry pick d/d or d/s. With the "Bag Fragment" title.
Went like butter. Nobody in line easy submission with the help of Shane, a great employee for NGC. He made everything go smooth and rapid!
I thought the total fee would come close to $100 with the Reholdered, Variety and Show cost, but it was only a total of $65.
Then onto the Bourse.
Like mentioned, bumped into a few friends and a few dealers having discussions with.
A couple I personally knew.
Then, the coins!
Yes, the coins.
First, sold a Gold 1913 Indian 2.50 NGC ms 61.
After that, I sold 35 raw Westpoint Quarters.
All in decent shape, but not BU.
$316. not too bad. I still have quite a bit more at home. Better condition ones!
Quickly filled my wallet to search for some keen coins.
Found a beautiful 1949 PCGS ms 64 FBL Franklin.
Spectacular Toner! ❤
Then, I hunted down this
Hot W Quarter
2020W NGC ms 67 Weir Farm.
These are now the flaming valued ones according to PCGS!
They have it in their price guide at $1400 in a 67!
I paid $150 for my NGC one!
Thinking about cracking out but I'll wait awhile.
Finally, my last pick up.
Went over to Jon Sullivan's table. Good guy.
He took over Mr. Weinberg's position after retiring.
Jon had a very interesting error that caught my eye instantly!
It is a 1952 PCGS
Split Planchet after Strike,
Jefferson Nickel. AU 55 w/ Gold Shield.
Here's the strange part.
I have the EXACT error, raw in my collection!
Same year with the exact appearance on the reverse, Wow!
Had to buy it!
Wow!
Here's mine!
It has the similar raised area on the reverse like mine has too!
Well guys, that was my first day experience.
Loved it. Everything went awesome. Kinda scary actually.
😆
We'll see how Friday turns out.
Tomorrow, going with a neighbor.
I'll just strictly observe and maybe pick up some more smaller valued items. Where I can cherry pick.
Oh...
I almost Forgot. Early on, I bumped into two great YouTuber's. Very well known and intelligent in all coins! Very amusing videos they have from all over the U.S.
"Acousha Collectibles"
Drew & Casey.
Thanks guys for reading my report.
If your at the show,
Goodluck and have FUN!

Really like the split. Glad you are having a good time. I'm sure you will find something Friday that you must have. Don't let us down.😀
There's some nice coin in there, wtg
Great show commentary, Joey. Congrats on your experience and purchases. Interesting.

Interesting purchases. So far as the Weir Farm quarter goes ... if the marks on the neck are on the coin and not on the plastic it has no chance of getting a 67 from PCGS (my opinion).
The 1949 half dollar is quite attractive. Nice coin.
If you are getting that much for the West Point quarters keep on selling. You should do even better with the higher grade ones. The "market" must want them so this is a good time and a good show for selling.
My next day visit and final one!
Started by just a slow walk through. Checking out tables by glancing only.
No serious hunting. Tried to get that Free Show Coin but unfortunately, too late!
All gone for the day.
Took some cool pictures!
Needed This definitely! 😆
Arrived at Charmy's table to say Hi!
Busy woman as always.
Bought only one more item.
The 1888 Indian Cent RPD 1888/88
FS- 302 S-2 VF 35
Hologram coins
Thank you for reading my post.
Awesome Show!

As far as the world coin, I did see those too. This is a company from Lithuania but not their actual mint. They appear to design some items and then find mints that will strike them (with the Lithuanian Mint being one partner). The coins that I looked at have Cameroun as the country.
Thanks for your report.
The 1888 cent may be technically a VF35 but has far too many marks for the grade.
Joey, you bought a coffee from the Starbucks in the lobby? There went half your coin budget

Nice newps! Sounds like it was a great show.
Although, I’m sad to see that you sold off your gold quarter eagle. I was hoping you would get hooked.

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
No more than 200 per day....you've got to get there early!!!
I agree. The $150 you paid is what the coin is worth. Do not crack the quarter out. Your other purchases are nicer.
