What do ANACS, PCGS and NGC use to preserve coins that are sent for conservation? Do they different substances and techniques that are known to the public? And is it different for copper, bronze, nickel, silver and clad?

The grading services do not disclose their methods of preservation.
No ex-employees have said anything? I guess they have to sign a nondisclosure agreement. LOL
Yep, trade secrets.
@ifthevamzarockin is the trade secret like the coca-cola formula and Col Sanders secret chicken recipe?

My local coin dealer would do conservation if requested. Its basically a few chemicals like Coin Care, Acetone, Zylene, or Verdi Care. Most take care of 1 type of issue, so it may need several. I would assume that conservation at the TPG involves the same type of chemicals.
