This thread is full of those kind of listings and ebay is full of them too

AI generated
Hell, I overprice a Morgan by ten bucks and it hangs on the site for years.
and years.
I don't feel many people would buy coins from that seller. Do you have an example of someone 'falling for it'?
Captain Henway’s thread is the spot for laughs and incredulity.
"do people actually fall for this stuff?" Yes there are some that do, but most do not, and this type of scam is also here on this forum https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1105124/the-united-states-of-america-kennedy-50-cents-half-dollar-silver-coins-bright-white-surfaces-rares#latest.
I would bet that the bulk of the sales on the ebay seller account you linked are shills of some type. And I think that listing is either AI generated, or he copied another listing and did not change anything. My guess is the later but who knows.

The sad part for me, it can give our hobby a bad name...
There's a clown been "selling" a rear Dr. Sally Ride error for 40K (well, listing it) since the coin was released.
Used to be that fleaBay charged a small listing fee, that kept some of the real dreck off the site. But didn't generate as much in fees as a few Final Value Fees for sales, so they dropped it.
