Complete Classic Head Large Cent Wayte Raymond Page...

lkeneficlkenefic Posts: 8,160 ✭✭✭✭✭

It's been a while since I had a complete date run of Classic Heads, and this one includes the over dates which I didn't have before. My goal for this series was as little corrosion as possible and a readable date. The 1809 has decent G4 details but someone tried to slit Ms. Liberty's throat. The 1811/10 has some green corrosion and a couple of scratches, but the over date is clear. As always, thoughts and comments welcome.

Nice! Too bad they didn't keep the design like they did with half cents.

from about 2009 to 2013 I did Classic Cents in a Dance. I did all the Sheldon numbers and had coins in the F to VF range with surfaces as the ultimate requirement. The 1811 cents (both of the Sheldon varieties) were the toughest to find nice

    Nice.

How long did take you out together?
Are the holes a little big for the coins?

Thanks... Some of these coins have been in my collection for over 5 years. I started working more on copper about a year and a half ago... just after finishing my 7070. The holes are a little big for the Flowing Hairs, Liberty Caps, and Draped Bust Cents, but the Classic heads fit snug, as do the Middle Dates. The Late Dates have been mostly a tad loose.

That is a great set. Lots of fun to build. Do you have the entire album. I have had this album for a while and occasionally find something to put in it
Has 5 pages and goes from 1793-1931

I remember your set, BD. You had some very choice cents!

That must have been quite the set to see! I was looking for ANY straight graded VF for my Type set... for less than ~$2k! I ultimately went with VF details coin...

I would love to own one Classic Head Large Cent again. But a choice XF with original and mark-free surfaces, ouch to the prices!
