My vote goes to Ketel Marte of the diamondbacks. The guy can flat out hit but you never hear about him.
I’ll post some of his numbers this evening.
Who you got for underrated?

Good pick on Marte. I will nominate Jose Ramirez. 6× All-Star, 4× Silver Slugger, 30–30 club. He's finished in the top 5 of MVP voting 3 times. Doesn't seem to get much press outside of Cleveland.

Yes Ramirez is a beast. And he’s been on a hot streak lately. Since I’m a Royals fan I know how good he is. I think you’re right if he was a Yankee or Dodger he would get a lot more press.

    Looked up the stats.

.281 ten year BA. 13 HR per year.

Really nice 2024 season, but that does not get you on a Wheaties box.

I'm not sure if Jose Ramirez is THE most underrated player in MLB, but he sure escapes the attention of a lot of fans.

Jose Ramirez is sort of throwback player, a guy who works hard, plays wherever they put him, hits wherever they put him, motivates in the clubhouse and has been loyal to the Indians: he is signed through 2028/age 35, and my sense is that he probably wants to finish his career in Cleveland. His natural position seems to be second base, but he's played Left Field, third base and shortstop when that's where the team needed a player. When he played Left Field it was because he'd proven his worth as a hitter but other players were ahead of him at other positions.

He's proven himself to be the "last man standing" as those other players have retired or taken their payday elsewhere. @Darin, funny you mentioned Jose, he got his first Major League hit off the KC Royals on September 1st, 2013, so he has an anniversary of sorts coming up tomorrow!! :p

Tarik Skubal - this guy is the real deal. The fact that he was even mentioned at the trade deadline makes me wonder what the “new” administration is thinking. Barring injury I think he is the Tigers next Verlander.

Food for thought: Back in March, a survey of MLB players came up with these 8 as most underrated:

    1. Yandy Diaz
    2. Jose Ramirez
    3. Ozzie Albies
    4. Cory Seager
    5. Matt Olsen
    6. Austin Riley
    7. Bobby Witt Jr
    8. Ketel Marte
