The 2024 White Sox are the worst post-war team ever...in case you haven't been following.

27-81 record
Scored 330 runs
Allowed 538 runs

That is no mirage. They are abysmal. They have had two excellent starting pitchers this year and one just got traded. The other most likely on the way out too.

They are currently on pace to set the record for most losses in a season. 1962 Mets have held that since 1962 with 120 losses.

That is where they stand in runs scored per game. Look how far below they are from the second worst team, third worst, etc..

Itll never happen but if you win less than 50 games you should be forced to sell the team

And of course the Mets were an expansion team that year.

Another kick in the balls is that despite the record losing this year, the White Sox cannot pick higher than 10th in the 2025 draft due to the new rules in the collective bargaining agreement. A large market team cannot be in the drat lottery for two years in a row. The sox are considered a large market team in that agreement and they were in the lottery for this last draft. The small market teams cannot be in the lottery for three years in a row.

It looked like they would snap their 14 game losing streak last night until they put in a reliever who gave up 6 runs in the eighth inning. Losing streak now at 15 games.
After the game I turned to quick pitch and for the highlights they had the Sox announcers. When Witt hit the slam I swear the announcer was mumbling. 😂 then when Witt made the two great plays in the ninth to end it he says “just stop it”! I think they’ve had enough of Bobby already.

Losing streak at 17 games now.

Losing 3-8 today so if they can polish off this latest bit of futility it should make it 20 in a row.

At this point they should just try and lose every game. Its basically impossible to lose 20 in a row in baseball but at least they will be remembered for something

Just watched the Twins sweep them, they are pretty bad.

They will probably get one agains the A's in this coming series, but if they manage to get swept again, then they are set to break the modern losing streak record at home against the Cubs.

They got one against the A's as suspected to snap the losing streak. They fired the manager they hired that nobody else was interested in hiring. Their GM was a failure as minor league director and a failure as a GM. Their owner is cheap and not very baseball smart.

Dumpster fire of an organization. White Sox and the As are the only two teams that have never signed a player to a 9 figure deal. Even before this last disastrous manager LaRussa didnt even know what the rule changes were half the time when they hired him for being friends with the owner

As Tammy Wynette would say, those Good Guys (as WGN liked to call them back in the day) have really gone bad!

No one wants to be remembered for something like that! I'm sure no one on the '99 Spiders told their grandkids stories about their time on the worst team in baseball history! 20-134, 84 games out of first, and lost 40 of their last 41!!

  • Last nite was a perfect example of this year's crappy Cubs trying to give it away, but this year's Sux wouldn't take it. :D

    Enjoy the go.

At least the Spiders had an excuse. Their owner owned two teams and he took all of their good players and traded them to his other team for basically nothing essentially using the Spiders as a farm system
