My Paris Medal ...

... struck by the US Mint for use by POTUS 34 (Dwight D. Eisenhower) at the 1960 Paris Summit. Designed by Frank Gasparro and uses the same planchet as the Morgan/Peace silver dollar. Most were never issued due the U-2 incident on May 1, 1960. A true POTUS Numismatic Artifact (PNA) with direct ties to Dwight D. Eisenhower, US history, and the cold war. A large percentage of the original mintage was destroyed by the US Treasury and also suffers from mishandling (not officially cataloged until 2014). There are 7 other medals issued with the facsimile signature of Dwight D. Eisenhower and the dual torch design on the 38.1 mm planchet

That's a cool Ike dollar!
I have never seen one before, thanks for sharing.
Never heard of these before. Cool!
Nice find. Cool diplomatic swag. What was the original mintage?
