Hi guys,
I just won this gorgeous 1851 Goldy!
Does the fact being Rotated
carry any additional premium?
And it's not Slightly rotated either.
It's obviously rotated!
It also might be clockwise, as well?
What do you guys think?
Thank you.

Minor rotation, I would not pay any premium for it.

I would guess it's not uncommon for the date/mint.
Minor rotations less than 90 degrees generally don't bring a premium.
Gold coin errors are harder to get a premium because the coins are higher priced to begin with.
What looked like a major rotation yo you?
Agree with the no added value consensus. For an MS61, that's a nice looking coin and pre-Civil War gold is always very neat. Also, at 13 mm diameter, the Type 1 gold dollar is the smallest coin ever made by the US Mint.

No, in fact, for me anyway, if I were buying type coins the rotation would be a negative.
I have always viewed "rotations" as a defect rather than an error. I think they should be sold at a discount, not a premium.
Joey for rotated coins the premium is for coins with a rotation between 90 and 180 degrees.

So I should sell my 1839o 2 1/2 dollar with 180degree medallic alignment at a discount? What do you think is fair 1% off for the degree of rotation?
I think all gold coins should be sold at a discount because they are obsolete. Of course I’m a buyer at those discounted levels
