Please help with estimated value of this medallion, I think it is absolutely amazing that someone could paint this level of detail! 19 pictures in all.

    I know nothing about the value of such an interesting item but suspect its value may lie primarily outside the numismatic market. A large auction house may have an expert that can give you guidance on determining value.

    That’s cool! What are they painted on? Paper? cloth? Are they etchings? They look like it, then hand colored.

    Yes, that is correct! The diameter of the "coin" is about 40mm or so, and there are 19 of these miniature paintings in there.

    Etching is correct too, and then colored by hand exactly as you thought.

    The amount of work that has gone in to doing these simply amaze me.
