This one popped up on Ebay yesterday from one of my trusted sellers. I had a couple questions about the coin. He assured me that if I didn't like the coin in hand I could return it with "no hard feelings." He even reduced the price by $55 unsolicited. I accepted his offer and am looking forward to adding it to my core set. A big upgrade over my VF35 space holder.
I wonder how many 1845 LC there are in rattlers? Can't be that many. Let me know what you think about the coin. I know it's not perfect and probably won't CAC. But it has a certain charm to it IMO.

    As a type, I don't see many large cents in rattlers. Either they are pinned down in long term collections or they are scarce entirely! Great buy!

    I have exactly one, and I’ve been buying slabbed LC’s for ~ 35 years.
    I have a number of them in the old small ANACS holders, but I just didn’t and still don’t see many large cents in PCGS rattler holders.

    I wonder if that may in part be due to EAC guys, who owned many of the nicer cents, eschewing slabs until more recently??

    Of all the rattler Large Cents I have seen, they all exhibit pleasing luster & eye appeal despite mainly being BN. So does yours.
