Current Vintage Grading Special - Really all that "Special"?

Am I missing something or is the current vintage grading special really not at all 'special'?

Vintage grading special - $16/card. . .1956-1979. . .10 card minimum. . .70 business day turnaround
vs
Regular "Value Bulk" - $19/card. . .1979 or older. . .20 card minimum. . .45 business day turnaround

I mean sure. . .the "special" is a lower minimum, but you're adding 25 days of turnaround in the name of saving $3/card. That really doesn't sound all that 'special' to me. Maybe I'm just old.

And I've been gone a while so I gotta ask. . .
WTF is the deal with the cutoff for "vintage" being 1979?!?!?! Yeah. . .I want to sent in my 80-84T for a grader to look at along side a batch of 2022 Tiffany Chrome Refractor Hologram nonsense.

So full of action, my name should be a verb.

I agree. But for some time, the "specials" seem to be in that range. I have to assume that those rates are providing sufficient submissions that they are not going any lower. Although I keep hoping for one that is. I would gladly accept even longer wait times for a lower price point. Sadly, I am not expecting that to occur.
