This is How you Get the New Varieties Added to YOUR Sets.

PCGS is not going to just add all the new varieties to all the sets because that would be to easy, so instead this is what you have to do. When you acquire one of the new varieties you will go to the Registry Set that you Believe the coin belongs in and you hit this button, Report a Cert That Should Match This Composite.

When you click on that a box opens up where you will enter the certificate number of the coin in your hand. That has to be done on EVERY SET YOU BELIEVE the coin belongs in. After a few days our host will either add the coin or not.

I have also heard that for the first time PCGS is not recognizing some of the new varieties. They have always said if its not in the CPG we do not do it so why there changing that now I have no clue. I picked off this 47 s spitting eagle that is now listed in the New CPG and have heard pcgs is not going to holder that one or the 48 spitting eagle......

I would also like too hear if any of the coins in the new book in your series are Not getting graded by our host.

Enjoy Tom

    Tom,

Thanks for the information. Just to clarify, you must hit "Edit" on your set that you want to add a coin, then you can select Report a Cert That Should Match This Composite

A window will appear and there are two tabs at the top for "Add to Existing Slot" or "New Slot". I selected "New Slot". Hopefully that will work.

At least using this method, PCGS will have already graded the coin, unlike the 1935 DDO, which PCGS has never graded that coin and it is still required to complete this set. Too bad they don't have a "Report a Coin That Does Not Match This Composite"

First, nice pick up on the 1947 spitting eagle! What was the grade of the beauty? Nice toning!
Thanks for the info about the new varieties and how to possibly add new coins.
The news about PCGS not adding some of the varieties in the latest edition of CPG is disappointing.
Perhaps PCGS should focus on getting the varieties correct. I am in possession of a 1945-S Washington quarter DDO FS-101 MS66+. Certification # 34714080. Coin can be seen on my 1932-1998 complete variety Washington quarter set. Mitch Spivak has the other incorrectly attributed MS66+ example.
It is disappointing that the newest varieties in CPG are not being included.
Thanks for what you do my friend.
    Also appreciate Jay’s comments!

Well they approved my two requests. They now show up in the composition list. I am still not able to add them to the set, but maybe that will take some time. They also assigned them both a weight of 1 point. So hopefully they are still working on it.

I had them add the 1961-D FS-503 RPM in the Business Strike variety set and the 1959 Proof DDO FS-102 variety in the proof variety set.

Again they were both added to the composition list, but still unable to add them to my set. But I want to thank Tom again for letting us know how to do this.

Well good news!! PCGS finally added a new CPG variety in the Washington Quarter Complete Variety Set. I requested them to add the 1961-D RPM FS-503 and it has been added and I was able to add it to my set. You can click on the link below in my signature to see the coin I added.

I am still waiting for a proof variety to be added, but I believe it will happen.

So anyone wanting to add a new CPG coin to a set needs to read the first post in this thread on how to add a coin to a set.

OK since I posted above I was able to add a 1959 Proof FS-502 DDO to the Washington Quarter Complete Variety, Proof (1936 to 1964). The coin is a PR67 graded. So by adding this to my set it allowed me to pass D. L. Hansen and move into 3 place. I never thought I would pass DL Hansen in any set to be honest. It may be temporary, but for now I will take it.
