I feel lucky today finding that my AU58 16-P is a 2-feather variety

Bought this coin in 2002 from Great Lake Coins for $20 and had NGC slab it a few years later. Never noticed at the time it was a 2-feather. Not sure when NGC started this designation or you need to request it.

Cool story. Even though the 16 is the most common 2 feather, the fact that’s it’s in a high grade and you paid so little for it makes it a win. You do need to request and pay extra to NGC for the designation.

  • Thanks for the info Vetter. Be curious to know the value at this grade to see if its worth the re-grading price

They may do reholdering, in which case just pay for variety attribution
