Newbie to coins have some wheat pennies w errors??

New to coins and have several wheat pennies I have kept over the years. I’d like some direction on if these are true errors or just plain old wear and tear.
Appreciate any help.

    Howdy and welcome.

Good (semi-decent) photos are extremely important. One in focus and cropped image of each the obverse and reverse are a good start. Also, you should be able to tell us exactly where you think the error is and not ask us to guess if there are errors or where they are. This works best if you have some idea of the minting process. If you don't, and you are just throwing stuff against the wall in the hope of hitting the lottery then you will be disappointed and folks might lose interest in helping you. Lastly, true errors (especially those worth any real money) are very rare, so the odds of you having stumbled upon some are slim.

    Good luck!

Everything that Tom B said plus make sure you only have one coin per posting.
It gets confusing with more than one coin at a time.

Start from the assumption that most small items are just wear and tear. Visit https://www.error-ref.com/ to see examples and descriptions of actual minting errors.

Then, post things that you feel are genuine errors - and tell us what you think it is - DON'T MAKE US GUESS, you will not like the results. And please, don't post random change and parking lot coins with "rare errors you heard about on YouTube".

  • Hi, I’ve got this 1957-D wheat penny with this odd stamping on the reverse. Is this a valuable stamping error? And should I get this graded? I’m somewhat new to coin hunting, but have a large collection of wheat Pennie’s I’m going through. Any help would be appreciated!

It's not a "stamping". It's tape residue probably from being taped in an album. It's not an error or a variety. It carries no premium and spending $70 to certify it is the equivalent of setting money on fire.

Did you expect a different answer on this thread than the one you started yourself?

You should really start your own thread instead of piggybacking on someone else’s, this just causes confusion. Also crop your photos, we don’t need all that background.

Agree with the above post, not an error in anyway, you can remove it yourself by soaking in acetone for 24 hours.
