New Piece - 1850-O Seated Half

CatbertCatbert Posts: 7,167 ✭✭✭✭✭

When one is building a set, not every date comes available with attractive eye appeal. When one does find one that meets one's parameters, it is most satisfying! My initial foray into the seated half series focused on the O-mints and while I do have all the dates, there are just a few I wish to identify for possible upgrades.

This coin will now be the primary one for the date in my collection because it is a home run for me. It's an AU coin (55 CAC) that has really distinctive toning that I will enjoy examining for a long time. The TV below is an excellent representation of the coin.

Falling to #2 and still attractive (55 w/proof-like colorful reverse):

Hope you enjoy!

I love the ‘look’ of your new #1!

A stunning coin like that just transcends its numerical rating…

'#2 is beautiful but #1 is a very nice, lustrous, hairline-free upgrade.

It seems Liberty seated coin collecting is a small world. Congrats on landing that nice example.

Great looking pair. I actually would have a tough time choosing.

I was going to suggest you reach out to JBN if you were looking to part with the second one. He has an excellent circulated set but I just checked and he has a nice 50-O.

THAT IS SUCH A COOL AU I think 55 is as high as it should go, but my god I love it.

I enjoy the photos of the first coin more but I have the feeling I'd enjoy seeing the second coin in hand more. Both are magnificent, congratulations.
