    Keith,

That is exactly what I need for my complete type set, how much do you want for it? Don't bother to register it as I'll register it after the deal is done.

    Let me know.

Great looking coin, Keith, or as we know him in Latin, the Voice of Rationality ... but, I too, am stumped by the icon
  • Wow.....that is nice! You gotta love green rim toning in a coin.

    Tom,

Look at it this way, I won't be competing with you on the next one that comes along image Thanks to all for the kind words. Wish the scan did it justice. The obverse is lighter, and the reverse colors are a very vibrant neon.

Re the icon, clearly Keith is adding the drapery !!

    Keith,

That's a nice looking coin for the grade. And one of the toughest to find in the set.

    Congrats!

Thanks, High -- welcome back. You've been sorely missed around here.

The icon change is temporary to mourn the passing of a board icon on the Open Forum. We will return you to our regularly scheduled rim-toned Kennedy tomorrow.

    ditto, nice looking coin Keith.
  • Really nice! I like it a lot. It helps that someone is buying even if it isn't me image Looks like very few bangs and nice toning. Nice.

Now that is one sweet coin. I'd way rather own that then even one in MS62.
    Great, original look.

          Keith,

That's a really beautiful, original-looking coin. I'd like to have a complete pre-Civil War type set of silver coins with that kind of toning. Did you find that on the internet, or sight-seen from a dealer? Judging from the reactions here, you sure wouldn't have any problem finding a buyer if you were to sell it. Congrats on a nice coin!

Thanks again for all the kind comments.

I picked this piece up off of David Lawrence's website. The coin was listed last Tuesday, and I requested the scan, since it was listed as a 3 on the color rating and 5 on the eye appeal. Wednesday, when I got the scan, I looked at it for about an hour, hmmd, hawed, then said I'll pass. Left work and drove home, and somewhere along the way, decided that I would kick myself if I didn't pick the piece up. Fortunately, it was still available when I got home.

          KD,

What a beautiful coin. Nice scan and as you mentioned I bet it is more colorful in person. After I read all the comments... I had to go back up and drool some more. The silver gray contrast on the obv. is what I really like. Sweet ! image
