Without looking it up, what grade would you assign this Morgan? What do you think PCGS gave it? Full disclosure, I'm considering purchasing the coin.

Edited: I'm thinking grading from an image may be an issue here.

PCGS MS68

    I would give it a 65 and I think PCGS gave it a 66.

Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

I’m with @hummingbird_coins: for me 65 - a little too much noise. But I think PCGS went 66.

I looked it up. I’d want a CAC on that.

Looks like a 66 to me. 1880S Morgan's come pretty nice.
I did guess 66 but it wouldn't surprise me if this were a 67.

I'm not as qualified as many others here, so take my opinion lightly, but for what it's worth I would not pay 68 money for that second coin you posted. Even if it has the most insane luster (which it must if it got a 68), those marks on Liberty's cheek and neck are a bit too distracting.

Consider either one carefully, from the scans I don't see 68, bonus if either has a green bean, if not, we'll just stay friends ;)

Keep in mind that very few posters here will ever grade a coin 68 from photos. People guess like the Price is Right - try to be close without going over.

I like the first coin a bit more. The cheek is incredibly clean. I own a few MS68 coins but none are Morgans. I haven’t found many nice enough to justify the price jump.

I see your point but I would love to pay MS65 or 66 money for the coin.

Unless you cherry an 1888/7 indian head cent in AU from them.

Woulda guessed 7+ on the Morgan so I can see 8.
