A few of my earlier slabs

hfjacintohfjacinto Posts: 846 ✭✭✭✭✭

While I always buy the coin and not the slab, lately my LCS got in a collection which included a few older slabs. Being a good customer, I've been able to pick up a few of the coins that came in.

Having older slabs was a pleasant surprise.

Nice Indian HE. Really good for a 60.

    Thanks all!

It’s nice having a local coin shop that works with you. The gold coins are beyond my biweekly hobby budget so he holds them for me while I pay the coins off. I should be getting another in an Anacs soap box in 4 weeks.

Nice slabs and coins...the gold looks conservatively graded to me. Thanks for posting!

Why is the $5 Indian only graded MS60?

I agree but @MFeld said it was over graded, but all is good as I'm not planning on selling it at Heritage :D

Great score! Good for you; especially like the gold pieces.

Becasue it is a bitchen tough graded AU58. Even PCGS felt bad with the technical AU (correct grade) so they at least gave it a 60 market grade. IMO

I agree that it would make an excellent AU58 and I'd prefer it that way, but at least the book value is higher as is.

Agree. I think too much emphasis is placed on the “mint state” designation over the better surfaces condition of the AU coin.

    PCGS AU-58 $875 NGC $755

Considering I paid $600 for it, I'm ahead whether its MS or AU.
