1979 O-Pee-Chee Baseball cards

After expending a great deal of time scouring the internet for a definitive answer to no avail, I'm hoping that someone here may know.

I keep seeing the statement, "the 1979 cards were issued later in the year, like most, so there are updates noted, like trades", I paraphrase.

Does anyone know what month the 1979 O-P-Chee baseball cards were issued?

so pete rose played the whole season with the phillies. he was signed december 5 1978. so i would imagine that the 1979 topps set was put together some time in late 1978. since the 1979 card doesn't have a pick of rose with the phillies, i would assume that the o-pee-chee set was put together in january of 1979.

so the 1979 opc set was probably dispersed somewhere near the start of season. between march 15 and april 1, would be my guess.

Carew was traded to the Angels on Feb. 5 1979 so it would have to be after that.

It’d be interesting to know who the latest signed player was to a new team based on the cards with the “now with…” notation.

The Mike Lum card says 3/1/79. Bill North signed with the Giants on 3/10/79, and he has a Dodgers card.

I assume that all the cards of this set were issued at one time. Or were they issued in series?
