It was 61 years ago today: Giants vs Braves. Warren Spahn vs Juan Marichal. Both pitched 15 scoreless innings. Willie Mays won the game with a HR in the bottom of the 16th.
Marichal threw 227 pitches and Spahn threw 201 (as a 42 year old!). This is something that will never be repeated as it is now prohibited by law for a pitcher to throw more than 120 pitches in a game

Guess is that the game was under 4 hours.
Edit to add: Couple of sites are stingy with the time of game, but it looks like 8 to 12:30. Four and a half hours.
