1986 Lincoln cent Cuds

Hi

I am trying to find anything on cud coins. I have quite a few and some are very cool. I have several with obverse and reverse retainage. Can anyone point me to the best source of information for valuation?

Corrosion and damage. Value is one cent.

@Arvada62 how would you define a cud? What parts of the coin shown in your pictures match your definition?

I think you might be confusing plating blisters for cuds. It is highly unusual to have a cud on both sides. It is quite common, as in the coin shown, to have corrosion to cause bubbles to pop through the plating on post-1982 cents. The zinc core is highly reactive and easily corrodes.

It must not be corrosion, then, since this coin is before 2982.

So I'm not supposed to try to help the newbie??.

It was a joke, don't take yourself so seriously.

About this particular "newbie", he's already selling his "finds" on the BST. "They ALL have DDO AND DDR that you can see with your eyes." and there's a "Very nicely doubled little drummer boy."

By all means, help him out.

I know it was a joke. I actually appreciate your humor. But it was an odd joke that didn't really follow my comment as I wasn't nitpicking terminology but trying to nicely explain that he was completely misunderstanding what he was looking at.

P.S. On a related note, a local dealer sold a 6 figure collection for a customer. The customer then said he had a variety collection he'd also like to sell that he felt was a 7 figure collection. When he brought it in, it was like Friday night on the forum. He said there wasn't one legitimate major error or variety.
