Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
As a transplant to North Carolina, this is one of my favorites! It is tiny....

This one used to be yours Ambro!
I’ll bet this one bought a lot of whisky! It’s got teeth marks too
Kudos to Mark Goodman on these images.
Not my coin.
Yes I remember it well. Do you ever wonder who all have ever owned it, or who will own it a hundred, two hundred years from now? Did the coiners operating the misaligned screw press ever think that coin would sell for thousands of dollars and be transported across the country in a gigantic flying machine burning kerosene?

The dime is to show size comparison. What is this gold colored coin? Is it real? I don't even know what it is! All I know is, it's small.

They don't so small in the pics.
In real life I can't even with the tiny stuff..
🧐
That's a gold dollar. It is a US coin. I'm surprised that you being a member with 6k+ posts haven't come across an Indian Princess gold dollar in all your time on the forum.
How much did you pay for it, assuming the person you got it from didn't know it was actually gold?

@OAKSTAR That gold coin looks like a counterfeit gold dollar.

You're assuming a lot. It's a dollar? Oh, I didn't see Dollar written on the coin. I've spent zero time on gold coins. Why?... Because I don't have any gold coins and know nothing about them.
So you think I bought the coin without knowing what it was? I didn't buy it, it was given to me.

Yes, more likely a counterfeit marketing tool or promotional gimmick.

Looks real enough to me. But I am not a gold expert, either.

Definitely a counterfeit. Many of the denticles are missing from the obverse.

Not strictly a coin, but it is tiny.

The 1/2 Real, or “Medio” was the smallest denomination struck by the insurgents during the Mexican War of Independence from 1811-1814. This piece is the size of a gold dollar and Uniface . The Uniface variety was struck in 1812. It’s not known how many were struck.. “enough for commerce” their records say. I’d say it’s an R7 rarity.
10.5mm gold Peso pattern struck in gold. Only example known.
Probably never minted because it’s too darn small.
Musta had a tight leather pouch for those fanam specks.

I like small coins but alas the majority don't,
I just had a dealer tell me he can't sell small even rare small world coins.
Public only wants large coins 50c, dollars ,crowns.
a lot of collectors are not that sophisticated concerning world coins.
if you knew where to sell in the U.S. or overseas. lots of good value out there.
I like world coins you can be the expert and cherry pick rarish coins.
pick a country or two and study the coins then go hunting.
I have run into more than a few foreign dealers and collectors cherrypicking world coins from less than knowledgeable
dealers in the U.S. .
