Looking through a collection of early 20th century souvenir spoons, mostly marker "STERLING," but there is one of a contemporary design marked "PEARL SILVER." Anybody ever hear of the term, and know what it means?
I suspect it is silver plated, but do not know the term.

Per some vintage kitchen utensil sites: "The phrase "pearl silver" was stamped on flatware that was actually nickel silver, that is made of copper, zinc and nickel with no silver content." Good luck. Peace Roy

Thanks. I had never encountered the term before.
It sounds like what is now called German silver.
