Parking lot score

Technically this transaction took place in the parking lot. Yesterday one of the kids I work with told me a lady tipped him in change. As he shook his pocket it sounded familiar. I told him to show me the change. He hands me a worn quarter from the 50’s. I tell him how to quickly tell a silver quarter by looking at the side. He then pulls another silver quarter out of the pile. I explain to him the price of silver. When all is done he had six silver quarters. A $30 tip on the day

Nice. Good job in giving him an education on silver coinage.

The best kind of parking lot find. Pics?
Along with looking @ the side is the “ring” sound a silver coin makes when dropped on a table. The clad pieces make a “clunk” sound. I taught this to my grandkids - they were fascinated by the difference.
