1956 D Lincoln Wheat Penny Broadstruck

I think I just found my first broadstrike. Just a slight broadstrike and it’s in rough condition but I’m super happy! Beginners luck and on a small scale, but way cool! Please tell me it’s not PMD lol!

Sometimes the dies used to strike the outer ring overlap the edge of the cent.

Great example that illustrates how a coin like this was created. In extreme cases, these cents even getting lettering and design elements from the secondary strike.

Thank you @FredWeinberg @JBK @GoldenEgg @jmlanzaf very very interesting, Hey has anyone seen this coin before. They speak about the DDR on the columns and that’s it, my coin has a lot more going on than that! Check out the date.

Die chip in the 9. Probably not worth much.

    God Bless, CRHer700
