shame to hear it. He led a good long life. I hope I can get 86 years.
RIP
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I attended school with his sons from his first marriage. I remember going to their house and shooting buckets in the driveway. He may have joined in once or twice.
Farewell, Logoman.
Enjoy the go.
RIP Jerry West.
I have a Jerry West story.
In 1984 I was 28 years old and working in So. Cal. Friends and I went to see a Laker's game at the Fabulous Forum. After the game my friends and I headed over to the Santa Monica area to go bar hopping. We went to one bar and had some drinks. The bar was packed, mostly with a younger crowd of people in their 20s and 30s. The people were mostly very well dressed, physically fit and attractive.
Seated at the main bar, having a drink, was Jerry West. In 1984 he was 45 or 46 years old. He was dressed casually, wearing a leather jacket over a button down shirt. While observing him at the bar I watched Jerry West being approached by and surrounded by a steady stream of very attractive women who were all vying for his attention. Though he did engage in some conversation with persons who approached him, he was not interested in doing anything other than enjoying his beverage.
After observing Jerry West at this bar I thought that what I was seeing that evening was probably what he experienced on a daily basis when he was out and about in public. Being a public figure like he was would be initially flattering and as time passes it would become annoying.
Heckuva basketball player.
RIP
RIP to the original Logoman.

I had no idea exactly WHICH photo they used! Now I know! And knowing is half the battle.

RIP to a true basketball genius. CBS Sports should have done their homework because the creator of the logo, graphic designer Alan Siegel, never revealed the actual photo he used to make the logo, he just said it was a photo taken by Wen Roberts, who was the Lakers official photographer at the time, and that the photo was shown to him by his friend Dick Schaap, who was the editor for Sport magazine. This is believed to be the actual photo.
