Go to Walmart, find old coins.
I found a really work out penny in my change today. I have no illusions of value, just trying to figure out the mint mark Is this a D?

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
not a great pic, but looks more like plain (Philadelphia) with a hit near mintmark position
Welcome to the forum
Not a D or any other mintmark, it is just dent from taking a hit.

Finding a 95 year old coin in circulation is still noteworthy, even if no mm. Congratulations.
Random damage.
