Any good facebook groups for Collectors (Authentic ones that only deal in real TPG)

Just wondering.. I got back on facebook and see so many of these waste of time groups none that actually seem reputable to discuss anything of value. Any ideas? The funny ones are the "what is my dirty penny worth"?? <--only .1 cent.

These two are ones that I help moderate, and they're the cream of the crop IMO.

This one is also pretty good, If you're a dealer you can join the CDHCD parent group but that has a membership fee.

These are both good for scam awareness, but the moderators have their issues and drama so take some of what you read with a grain of salt.

Forget about the rest of them with the damaged pennies, they are pretty much useless.

I joined the top two that DD listed after he vouched for them here before, and both of those groups seem to have solid members and some nice material does get offered on each from time to time.
The only other one that DD did not list that I have found solid is the vintage holders group.
As a Lincoln collector at heart I also joined a couple of Lincoln cent groups, both of those have turned out to be a complete joke. Each has a member or two that are knowledgeable, but for the most part it's just a bunch of yahoos that know squat spouting a bunch of misinformation.

I forgot about the vintage holder group, that one’s pretty good too.

I see a thread like this and can't help but think... it's too bad that MyCollect didn't take off better.
The "Liberty Seated Collectors Club" site is OK. It features seated coins for sale.
The Barber Half collectors also have a page.
Thanks. My eyes are like bleeding after seeing all those dirty whats my stinky penny worth pictures!!

I disagree actually I think MyCollect is very good, Ian is doing everything correctly. Taking off is a whole other story and I can tell you why. PCGS is a home to many people. MyCollect is an arm of just GreatCollections. I love auction sites, but it doesn't really feel like a home as much as Collector's Universe does. However, I love it. I just don't find much on it to really pull from. It's a fun board, made a few dollars off it, but PCGS has so much more depth.

I joined these 2 groups after checking them out.
I didn't say MyCollect wasn't a good site, just that interest and activity with it hasn't been stellar. I agree and think Ian has a lot of the right ideas with it and maybe in time it will gain better traction. I certainly hope so as that would be great for the hobby. All we can do is wait and see.
I did start a Certified Lincoln Cent group at MyCollect to rule out all the parking lot roadkill. The only way I knew to do it was to be moderator and approve any post before it goes live; it's not something I like to do—being overlord—but I knew no other way around the "how about this corroded DDO triple-stamped double overdate SMS" crowd.
Nonetheless, it has been pretty quiet. Some of that is my fault (I should post more there), and some of it is, I think, just a function of it being part of the larger MyCollect. Here is a link if anyone wants to check it out and join! There are quite a few serious Lincoln collectors and dealers who are members: https://mycollect.com/groups/certified_lincoln_cents
Kind regards,
George
