2003 Proof Silver Eagle Dilemma

I have a 2003-W Proof 70 silver eagle cert # 26501871 which is Mercanti signed. When I added this to my inventory it shows up as a normal 2003-W proof. It is not designated "Mercanti Signed on the PCGS set registry list. It shows as a normal (non-Mercanti) eagle Therefore, it only shows a value of $125 instead of the $900 that is shown in the price guide for this eagle.
Is there an error with this cert or why is this not designated as a Mercanti? I have had no response in numerous attempts from PCGS via email

Have you tried calling customer service? I would try every avenue possible for that much missing value due to the label being wrong. would this classify as a mechanical error on the label?

I am not a label expert.

That said, it appears that the PCGS coin number is the issue. 99964 is the "base" PCGS coin number for the 2003-W PR ASE. And the "base" holder does not come with a Mercanti signature.

I agree with @JWP about calling PCGS, if you are able.

    Your situation piqued my interest.

So, I did a a QUICK eBay search for your coin (2003-W PF ASE) and label (Mercanti signed; 'Mint engraver' series). Found three items that appear to 'match', but have different PCGS coin numbers:
~ Exhibit #1 - PCGS coin #99964. This is just like yours. The coin number does not acknowledge the Mercanti signature, or the 'Mint engraver' label.
~ Exhibit #2 - PCGS coin #519819. This coin number acknowledges the Mercanti signature, but not the 'Mint engraver' label.
~ Exhibit #3 - PCGS coin #626029. This coin number acknowledges both the Mercanti signature, and the 'Mint engraver' label.

Like I said before, I am not an expert on PCGS labels. So, I cannot explain how, or why, there appears to be (at least) three different PCGS coin numbers for the same 'coin/label' pairing. Notwithstanding, it is my hope that this additional information, specifically the different coin numbers, will help you when you contact PCGS.

    Good Luck. :)
