Not rare, but unique

Found this at OPC Tucson. Surely a lot of them around, but the engraving is rather good for 1912

Those Russian state credit, their Russian empire & some of the early train co notes have incredibly intricate engravings & captivating designs. It's why they're so popular amongst many World collectors. Your 500 Ruble example is in great, original Choice uncirculated condition. What's not to like?

My favorite in that series is the 3 ruble. Incidentally, these were all printed lithographically, they were not engraved.

    Intrigued by all things intaglio.

Yes indeed it is quite large and won't fit into any of my albums!

The shop from which I bought this bought a slug of them and sent them to PMG using their bulk service with consecutive #'s. Unfortunately he missed the fact that they charged extra for the larger holders.
