The oddest post you'll see for a while - Saved gum from CU Group pack rips

I'll admit that this may be the result a misspent youth ingesting too much of what Geddy Lee referred to as 'foreign matter' when he introduced the song 'A Passage To Bangkok' on one of the live Rush albums but I actually saved the gum from a bunch of old wax and cello packs. Interesting tidbits:
1977 Topps and OPC baseball gums were different sizes.
1980 Topps had two sizes - did they switch over to the smaller during the year or was wax one size and cello a different size?
1981/1982 was a larger slab of gum than even 1975 but by 1983 it was smaller than ever

I like the fact that the gum is autographed.

This might be the greatest post I’ve ever read on any messageboard whatsoever.

And I’ve been here for for like 20 years maybe 25 years. I can’t even keep track of this point.

    Well done, original poster.

Will you send to PSA or SGC? PSA sells for more , but takes longer to grade.

Yeah. All of them seem a bit off center, soft corners and a bit of a tilt.

Terrible crease and gum loss in the 1984.

I participated in some of those rips. Wish we had a time machine on those prices!

Does the ink impact the flavor at all?

I'm just thankful you didn't put them in screw-down holders.

    '75 Mini is clearly counterfeit.

....'cause the '75 mini should be smaller than the regular issue, right? :p

Great post but this needs to be added to the “You know you’re a fanatical collector “ HOF posts.

Bubblebathgirl would like to buy the Topps gum! I can't wait to open a pack of 75's that has writing on the gum. :s

OLB would like the OPC gum, he claims it's 100X rarer and tastes better too!

What are the chances that two of you would have done the same thing?

That 1981 Fleer piece looks like it has life still in it.

No cherry flavored 1981 Donruss gum?

I ate so much Donruss gum during the spring of 1981 that it is no doubt the rarest of the big three for that year.
