    The sad part is hes probably getting a big pay day and this is the condition to end his bogus lawsuits. He should have been fired years ago.

    Hopefully Bucknor. Diaz, Eddings, O'Nora, and Kulpa who is not only bad but picks fights with players will either retire or get fired as well. Theyre the poster children for just getting rid of umpires and making it robot umps

    Yeah I don’t even think he’s the worst. Just goofed up so many big moments that he’s on the poster.

    Good he’s gone. Worth every penny he was paid to go.

    Angel is/was the worst accuracy wise. Theres an argument that Kulpa and Joe West tyoes that arent much more accurate and initiate confrontations to throw someone out are worse. I wouldnt be shocked if Angel was just botching some calls to get paid to be fired intentionally the last few years given his lawsuit claiming racism by MLB revealed hes the lowest rated umpire which everyone already knew.

    Selig had a chance to clean house in the 1990s with umpires and botched it so badly that Joe West ended up being one of the head umpires and trainers that has given these older guys this attitude that theyre the product

    I think I would prefer the challenge system they have in MiLB to full robo ump.

    Hes still been trying and still sticking to the racism claims. Im not sure if any of them have been going anywhere after it was revealed in the one the Umpires themselves had him the lowest rated. They were obviously garbage but he knew he couldnt be fired as long as he did it.

    2026 its looking like pitchers will be allowed to challenge balls and strikes. Its not clear how many times they will be able to do it but MLB has been testing it outside of MLB games and has expressed great interest in it. They dont think they could get it ready in time for next year though

    I'm not sure how the umps are rated but just watching the games every day I would venture to say C.B. Bucknor may now have the crown as the worst. And on the other end of the spectrum, I think James Hoye is very good behind the plate calling good games with few complaints.

    Hes terrible for sure. Given the weird timing and him trying to get payouts for years, I cant help but wonder how it actually happened. I wouldnt be surprised if MLB got some evidence he was blowing calls intentionally and gave him an option to retire and take some money or else.

    CB now holds the crown for worst umpire in MLB. Hernandez retiring is close to the best day of the MLB season - so far.
