I'm a big believer that it's only a matter of time before his card prices start to really blast off (of course I've been expecting it for a few years).

Based on how grading is these days I actually think his 10s are undervalued.

This is probably a card that everybody interested already has. Tons of this card out there. Dude is in every collection. Almost like it was double printed. Maybe everybody should have 2 of them. Like, one to be on display while the other is out at the grader trying to bump to a 10, or something. 100 dollars for this 9, though, is a way better value than most of the trash 10s I see people trying to get 100 dollars for. There have to be people who want it who don't have it for the price to take off though. Unless speculators artificially lower supply, I guess.

Ripken is a player who I am surprised is not far more popular in the hobby than he currently is. I remember back in the mid 90's he was super popular. the streak, while not forgotten, is not remembered nearly as fondly as it was back when he broke the record.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

That Ripken ‘82 fleer is pretty tough to get in a 10. I’ve seen submissions of a 100 of them with no 10s — all 9s. I think there is some legitimacy to that price ratio.

The record isn’t remembered more today because it’s insanely boring. Nothing exciting about.

The 82 Topps regular #21 is undervalued big time to me. I know a lot of people don’t like that it has multiple players on it but 10’s are so tough and have such a low pop. 1982 Fleer wax boxes should be a little higher now also

But there have been over 39,000 graded! 545 is low pop in my book regardless who is getting the 10’s

from a percentage stand point no doubt I agree. about 1.5%.

This sharpervintage guy on eBay is auctioning like 5 of these 9s a day. I just looked at the pop report. There are over 7 thousand 9s. Over 18 thousand 8s. That's a lotta Ripken RCs.

That's a ton. If i were going to grade one (Topps), I would send it to SGC to see if I could squeak out a 9.5. The 9.5's solidify that the 9 is high end, in my opinion.

I don't know what a good pop number is. It seems pretty obvious that 7000 9s is pretty high pop. This seller has sold 31 recently and has 10 auctions running. I was thinking about buying one till I saw the pop.

A while back I posted something about the player search not working right. They fixed it. Now it's broken again. This stuff doesn't break randomly.
