hi i do think this 1865 error three cent silver coin can any one help with this coin ?? if it is error coin thanks
It appears to be a grease-filled die. An error, but it won't help the value much.
Also, it's a three cent nickel, not silver.
Just slightly grease filled, not much value. It would have to be more than 50% filled before it had any significant value.
Some collectors, myself included, consider coins struck from grease filled dies to merely be defective coins that should be sold at a discount.
It's hurts the value, not helps.
ok thank for your help
There's also a slightly misaligned die.
hi is worth keeping this coin ??

If you like it, yes. If you don't, no.
Looks like someone whose last name was "Tates" was trying to immortalize their name on this coin.😀
