A "Holy Grail" purchase - I'm thrilled to own this incredible card

As a passionate collector of the oddball (but historically significant) 1974 Laughlin Old-Time Black Stars set and autographed cards of Hall of Famers, this is a card that I needed to add to my collection. Thankfully, fellow PSA board member Matt (1956toppsguy) was willing to work with me on a sale that ultimately pleased us both. This card is a Pop 2 with none higher and I couldn't imagine any other signed Satch card that I would rather own. Enjoy!

How was this set distributed? 1974 was my heyday but I don’t remember these.

The 36-card set could be ordered directly from Bob Laughlin via mail-order (he advertised in the hobby mags of the day). It's been estimated that he produced about 1500 sets of '74 Laughlins. That explains why it would have been off my radar as an 8 year old.
