First Morgan Minted

Show your 1878 Philadelphia 8 tail feather Morgans. With only 749,500 dollars minted, is this coin rare, or easy to find? Here’s one I picked up raw that has a convex obverse and a P/L concave deep dish reverse.

Here is one I had many years ago for a VAM set I was working on and gave up due to expense.

The very first Morgan Dollar minted was a VAM 9 and it currently resides in the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museum in Fremont, Ohio.

    The more you VAM..
