South Brevard (Melbourne, FL) Coin Show Report
Please read on for my brief report accompanied by my literary wanderings.
Re: today’s monthly - second Sunday - South Brevard Coin Show in Melbourne, FL:
Everything started off rough when my 17 year old son, with sleep still in his eyes, said, “are we still going,” to me, with sleep still in my eyes, at about 11:15. Oops! So we flew out the door.
I recently decided to add proofs to my PCGS type set and 69DCAMs work for me. I found a handful in the bargain boxes for as little as $5 for modern flawless clad. I mean, how in the hell do you pass up PCGS slot filler 69DCAM’s for five bucks!?! Some hopeful dreamer probably had $20-25 in getting each coin into that plastic fantastic.
The dealer count was lower than normal and attendance was sparse, but it’s Mother’s Day and it was almost noon by this point. There was a dearth of moderns, gold, and world & generic silver bullion. There just wasn’t a lot of classic material outside Morgans. The standard PCGS, NGC, and ANACS ratio was apparent, with little to no CAC slabs or stickered, which was different than last time when there was plenty.
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

Thanks for posting.
I usually attend this show, but we were busy all weekend with various Mother’s Day activities.
The past few shows have been pretty well attended by both dealers and the public….apparently MD took its toll.
