Did anyone watch or participate in the auction today? Although I'm barely qualified to judge, I thought the bidding was quite spirited (though sometimes long!), and the prices strong, overall, but especially for MS material. I was watching a few items, but only came away with one, an aureus of Nero.

I would loved to have won this one, but at 11 K a bit beyond my max bid!
I also bought an aureus of Nero, a duplicate but I couldn't pass it up considering it was going cheaply: https://coins.ha.com/itm/ancients/roman-imperial/ancients-nero-as-augustus-ad-54-68-av-aureus-19mm-734-gm-6h-ngc-au-5-5-3-5-light-marks/a/3115-31060.s?ic2=mybidspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyBids-101116
As usual, there were strong prices and bargains. That Pertinax is a nice coin but indeed very strong for what it is.
I got smoked on 2 lots where I thought I would be competitive. Very strong money still being bid, generally.
I did watch the auction and followed the spirited bidding. The few items I bid on went for more than I was willing to spend. I won one Medieval coin today and will be bidding on a few others tomorrow morning.

While trying to stay on a "reasonable budget" I did get some nice pieces (ugh 18 total), this is probably the 2 biggest of them
The rest were a number of very nice silver Caesars.
I maintained more control on the follow up, picking up 4 highlighted by this one:

Congrats, @Slade01 ! That Cassius must have a pedigree waiting to be found as well. And the Claudius is a very nice coin despite NGC's conservative slabbing.
Thanks, the Cassius was a surprise win for me.
My one beef with Heritage is that they put such a long hold on ACH bank transfers, that only take a day or two at most to clear. Both parts of the auction cleared my bank last week and they won't ship until next week so I can get my eyes on it.
By contrast, I bought some things at CG Sunday and they shipped already, as soon as the transfer cleared at my bank -- they will arrive tomorrow. Ian's efficient operation is appreciated.
Amazing coins, Slade01!
Weird that the coins have taken a while to ship - I won a lot in last Monday's Heritage auction, paid by Echeck, and had the coin on Friday. It was the fastest I've ever received a lot from an auction house.
Yeah, it is weird -- it is their echeck option (that is a simple ACH - automated clearing house network transfer) that takes a day or two at the outside. Unlike a check there is no chance that the funds will become unavailable.
They always ship small lots like $1,000 immediately but for some reason there is a long delay after the money leaves my account on the other two that were a lot more, but the money was there and left my account quickly.
And GC immediately ships large orders the same day that the money leaves my bank with the identical process. I'll have to talk to customer service and figure out what's up with that.
Heritage surprised me by shipping quickly on Monday. I paid via a credit card on Monday afternoon and expected my coins to arrive via USPS on Saturday - their packages always seem to arrive on Saturdays.
This time they shipped via Fedex on Monday afternoon and I had my package by 11 AM Tuesday (yesterday).
I lost on the main items I was pursuing but picked up this Hungary Matthias Corvinus and Peru Charles IV.

Those are nice.
I called Heritage and figured out that it was my fault for the delay, if I has used Plaid it would have been instantaneous. That option was not apparent, although I've used it with others many times. Now I know a least.
